It's the morning after the night before and I have just woken up after a Jaya The Cat adventure; It was brilliant from start to finish.

I got to the venue and I wasn't on the list. No problem, I contact the gentleman dealing with liaisons who gets me to wait and calls me back. “Go to the Good Mixer and give Geoff a ring.  I’ll text you his number”. Perfect. So off I pop and into The Good Mixer I go, to find that it’s Geoff, front man of Jaya The Cat and I end up having a beer with them all.

Jaya The Cat are funny, engaging and embrace me like one of the Jaya family from the get go.

After some coin pooping (yes pooping, I swear!!), beer chugging and joining in on birthday celebrations it's time to go back to the venue to watch the support acts (The Jellycats and ClayPigeon) both of whom I recommend checking out!

So… Onto the show! This is one band I am so damn glad I got to see live. A Jaya The Cat gig is basically a massive party from start to finish; Geoff walks on sucking on a bottle of Jim Beam and the whole thing kicks in to action.

With a mixture of funk, punk, ska and reggae Jaya have everyone going OFF in seconds… Some poor lass was wearing my near-full pint on her back before the first song was half way through, and I have been informed that the pit got so crazy a friend of mine ended up going home in his pants because his shorts got ripped from his body. Literally.

I say informed because I felt it was probably best on this occasion to remain away from the pit seeing as I was needing to pay special attention to let YOU guys know how rad it was, so alas, no first person sight seeing of shorts rippage…

Fans clambered on to the stage to jump off and surf the crowd, one girl joined them for an entire set because it was her birthday and everyone was invited to be a part of the craziness on stage by getting just as crazy off of it.

If you like your live bands to create a party, get you sweaty and beer soaked with possible war wounds while still making you dance til you die, you should probably head to a Jaya The Cat gig.
