To Pouzza And Back: Ex Friends Tour Diary: Part Four

The final show of this leg was at the Low Beat in Albany. Technically, it was brunch. Okay, not technically, it was an actual brunch. Like with eggs and stuff.

Nate Damschen played an acoustic set to open. Now here's something crazy about that: right before his set started Jayme and I started talking about The Ergs' Stinking of Whiskey and arguing about who wrote about it. And then about 20 minutes into Nate's set, he covered that exact song. If that's not proof that this is all happening in Luis Bunuel film, I don't know what more proof you are going to need.

The ride home was breezy and fun and sad and fun like it always is. Way in the back of the van our German guest may or may not have produced a bottle of Jagermeister at some point and there may or may not have been a sock puppet show and, briefly, a dude wearing a bra. We all made it home in one piece. Touring with Retreevers was great and I think we are all going to have at least minor separation anxiety from them next weekend when the second leg of the tour begins.

I know I'm probably too old to be doing this, but screw it. I have a grown up job that gives me a decent amount of time off. All my adult responsibilities are met. My ears and vocal cords still work. And music is still pretty OK.

Thanks to Dan at The Punk Archive for letting me do this!
