Camden Rocks Festival Preview: Under The Influence

We caught up with Jack, frontman of Under The Influence, ahead of their slot on The Punk Archive Stae at The Good Mixer tomorrow...

The Punk Archive: Introduce yourselves to our readers...
Jack: We are Under The Influence and we are everything your parents told you not to be. We're a hip-hop rock band based in Norwich with influences ranking from Wu-tang to Billy Talent. From hip-hop beats to rock'n'roll, we play that!

The Punk Archive: Are you looking forward to playing Camden Rocks?
Jack: We can't wait to get involved, literally this show is going to go off, and we are playing a sick venue too! It's going to be hot and sweaty...

The Punk Archive: What can people expect from your live show?
Jack: If you like your vocalist up in your face, and your musicians everywhere else, then be prepared to get sweaty and involved. We are all about the party.

The Punk Archive: What does the rest of 2014 hold for you?
Jack: Touring. Touring. Touring. Our album The Struggle and more touring. We wouldn't want it any other way.

The Punk Archive: What's the funniest thing that's happened to you when you've been under the influence yourself...?
Jack: I lost my voice once. Ben told me to get it back to drink whiskey (he didn't say sip it) so naturally I shotted it. I hate whiskey so added sambucca to try and get rid of the taste. Ended up getting really drunk and threw up on stage, the boys were cool about it though, they just laughed and cried. I suppose watching a man going to deliver his first vocal line is funny when he's covering himself in sick...

Under The Influence play The Punk Archive Stage at The Good Mixer as part of Camden Rocks Festival. Check them out at 9pm tomorrow... Head to http://camdenrocksfestival.com/ for info!
