The Punk Archive: You've played already today, how did it go?
Morgan: Amazing.
Denny: Yeah, absolutely amazing.
The Punk Archive: Was it busy?
Morgan: Yeah, obviously it started off a little bit sparse, because we were the first band on, but by the third song, it was pretty filled out.
The Punk Archive: So what are you doing for the rest of the day, are you going to hang around?
Denny: Yeah, we're going to hang and catch some bands that we like. We've just been on tour with Zoax, so we're going to try and catch them, and then some other bits and bobs to do throughout the day!
The Punk Archive: So what's coming up across the rest of the year for you guys?
Morgan: We're on tour next month with Bastions out in Europe, then we're planning on settling down and recording a new album. As far as touring goes, we actually haven't got anything else planned for now, but we're playing Redfest, and Festivile up in Sheffield.
The Punk Archive: Would you say you prefer playing festivals or gigs?
Morgan: I think there's good things to take away from both of them really. We don't usually play such big stages. That was so much fun, there was a lot of room for us to move around in, and do what we do. As well, though, we played a basement tour in February, and that was tiny little places, but it was just as much fun as that was, just as great!
Denny: It's always just as much as a rush, and that's good. Like you say, good and bad things about both.
The Punk Archive: I was down here in the press room when you played, so I haven't seen you guys. How would you describe your live show?
Denny: Chaotic. Try and be as chaotic as possible, but try to keep the music going.
Morgan: Yeah, energetic, engaging, chaotic…
The Punk Archive: How do you keep the energy up?
Denny: If you're in a van for three, four hours or so going to a venue, you're cooped up and all you want to do is move! For us, it's easy for half an hour to give it your all, let the lion out of the cage!
The Punk Archive: So what influences your songwriting?
Morgan: All over the place, really. As band members we've all got really really individual tastes, like I'm really into bands like Joy Division, whereas Denny is into Pantera, bands like that. Col listens to eighties ballads all day: I don't know how he puts that in there, but I think it gets in there somewhere!
The Punk Archive: And when does he get control of the stereo in the van, that's the big question!
Morgan: Even yesterday, he was like “listen to the harmony here”!
Denny: Each time, he puts on Go West. Each time.
The Punk Archive: Is that his little pre-gig ritual?
Both: Probably!
