Interview: Strange Bones

We caught up with fast-rising UK rockers Strange Bones recently, following their working with Dan Lancaster of Mallory Knox and Bring Me The Horizon-producing fame on new track SOIA...

The Punk Archive: Hey guys, introduce yourselves to our readers?
Strange Bones: We are Bobby Bentham, Will Bentham and Stuart Newburn. we're from Blackpool and we make up Strange Bones

The Punk Archive: What got you into music: how did you end up in Strange Bones?
Strange Bones: We grew up in a punk rock house surrounded by everything from GBH to The Meteors. Our parents used to take us to Goldblade and one way system gigs when we were tiny, and then eventually we picked up instruments around the age of 11. We then played as Outl4w for ten years all over the place and then started up SB!

The Punk Archive: Who are your main musical influences?
Strange Bones: There's so many... Live, I would say Charlie Harper and Jet from UK Subs and John Robb from Goldblade, because we played with them a lot when we were younger and they taught us a lot, very inspirational people to be around as a young band. And then everything else from Hendrix to The Cramps.

The Punk Archive: How would you describe your sound?
Strange Bones: Dirty, riffy rock'n'roll.

The Punk Archive: You've worked with Dan Lancaster on SOIA: how was that?
Strange Bones: It was ace. He's so good, really made the most of the track whilst keeping the edges rough.
