The Punk Archive: Hey guys, introduce yourselves to our readers?
Kris: Hey, what's up! We're sports., a three-piece band from Boston Massachusetts. We recently released our first full length album Demon Daze digitally and now it's seeing a vinyl release!
The Punk Archive: Who are your biggest musical influences and how do they find their way into your sound, if at all?
Kris: Right now I'd have to say my biggest influences are Into It. Over It, Megadeth, and Weatherbox. It's a super random collection of bands but they all find their way in somehow whether it's lyrical or musical. I try to listen to as much music as I can to get more ideas for our music.
The Punk Archive: How has the reaction been to Demon Daze?
Kris: The reaction so far has been really good! We've been super excited over how people have been taking it. People have been listening to it and downloading it on Bandcamp fairly consistently and there's been a steady stream of buzz surrounding it online. The new songs have also been received really well at our recent shows as well. It's incredibly honouring to me as a person to know that there are people who enjoy and relate to our music.
The Punk Archive: What made you decide to release the record on vinyl?
Kris: I started collecting vinyl about six or seven years ago and ever since I started listening to vinyl it had been a dream of mine to have my music put out on on the format. We talked about trying to find a way to release our first release We'll Get To It Eventually on vinyl but figured it would have been way too soon since we had just started as a band, so our goal was to release a full length and get it pressed.
The Punk Archive: What are your plans for 2016?
Kris: Right now I'm working on booking a couple of tours for us in January, February, and March. So hopefully a lot of touring will happen in 2016 and also a lot of writing. Who knows maybe some cool releases will come out next year as well!
