Alex Costello from Roam
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
The high point was either filming the video for Deadweight cause it was just so much fun; or getting the news that we were going to be playing with Sum41 next year in the UK.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?

Best gig in 2015 and why?
The best gig of 2015 for me was probably when we played Milan with Man Overboard and Moose Blood in April because we didn't expect such an amazing reaction. They pushed down the barrier to get on stage with us. Can't wait to get back to Italy in February.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
I've been listening to Northlane's new album Node; it's too good. We're also jamming Disenchanted by Handguns alot, we're on tour with them right now and that album really has some catchy songs.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
We really can't wait to release our debut album, that's a really special thing for us and we're really proud of it. Obviously we're buzzed for the Kerrang! Tour with Sum41, just to be playing huge venues with a band we really look up to is going to be such a ridiculous experience.
Dave MacPherson from InMe
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Making new InMe and solo albums and the subsequent touring. Performing our debut and sophomore albums in their entirety on the road. Starting to get into the world of co-writing and songwriting for other artists has been awesome and something I'm very passionate about. On a personal level, an amazing holiday in Italy followed by adopting two gorgeous kittens. Rock'n' roll.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
I'm not going to complain, I'm in a fortunate position in life. My Granny passed away but she'd suffered for a long time. The refugee crisis is very saddening and the horrific loss of innocent life in Paris obviously spring to mind. We live in such an amazing time in many respects whilst also living in a very soberingly frightening age.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Off the top of my head I'll go with the two London shows we played with InMe and for solo shows I'd say my recent show in Trowbridge was super fun. I played a sold out show in Cambridge too which was really special. Other than that I've played a tonne of weddings which are always a delight!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Sujjan Stevens, Black Peaks, TesseracT: Polaris, Lonely The Brave, Bring Me The Horizon: That's The Spirit, Sikth: Opacities, Faith No More, Fightstar, Born of Osiris: Soul Sphere, Veil of Maya: Matriarch, Periphery: Juggernaut, Pink Floyd, Frank Turner: Positive Songs For Negative People, Bat For Lashes, Lower Than Atlantis, Nothing More, Pearl Jam, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Protest The Hero, Queen, Roy Orbison, Talk Talk, Textures… lots basically!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
InMe are touring with Alien Ant Farm in January which is super exciting. Aside from working on the next InMe record I'm writing a pop alter ego album called Charm Sodden VIP. I adore it! Other than that I'm building a man cave studio at the back of my garden with some good friends which will be awesome!

What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Oooph there's loads. I think our European tour was special because it was our first outside the UK and we had a great time. The appetite for live music over there and the enthusiasm of the promoters and audiences was a really great experience for us and we can't wait to go back next year. We also headlined our first festival up in Cumbria: Northbound, which was a great way to round off our summer schedule in front of loads of friends and family. We've done loads of touring this year and our recent dates with The Computers have been exceptional: we love playing with them and have a great time every night. They're one of our favourite bands too and always make us raise our game. We also recorded a few covers for a bit of fun this year, including our version of Spandau Ballet's Gold. We had messages from the Kemp brothers and the Spandau drummer to say how much they loved it, so that was pretty cool too!
We recently suffered yet another terrible flood up here in Cumbria. Fortunately none of us were directly affected this time, but we have many friends, family and fans whose homes have been ruined so that's been a pretty crap end to the year: we've had to cancel several December tour dates which we hate doing, but sadly there's not a lot we can do about the weather!
Best gig in 2015 and why?
There's been a few good ones. The Manchester leg with The Computers was great because we hadn't played The Deaf Institute before, that's a cool venue. Our headline slot at Northbound Festival was a great experience, and the Kendal Calling show because we were on just as the sun was setting and the atmosphere was really good. Our shows in Berlin back in September were great too: it was our first time there and I think it's safe to say we'll be going back! We recently played with our friends Electric River at their farewell show, which was a sold out Camden Barfly. That was a top night of good music, friends and laughs: those are always the best shows, wherever they might be.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
There's been a few good new records out this year: Richard Hawley's new LP gets lots of van time, especially at night time. New records from Hot Water Music and Lawrence Arms too. Errr, lots of the same old stuff we like: Manics, Alkaline Trio, Murder By Death, The Replacements, Husker Du, we still listen to loads of that. I have been reviewing a few new albums recently and the debut record from Good Tiger is a certified banger!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Well we're recording our brand new EP in the first weeks of January, so we're really looking forward to that at the moment, we can't wait for people to hear the new stuff: we're pretty excited about it! There will be lots of UK touring to promote the new record and we'll definitely be back in the EU too, so there's loads going on. Latest dates and news at www.facebook.com/wearecolt45

What were the high point(s) of 2015?
I think playing shows on the West Coast was the high point of the year for us. We've talked about going over to that side of the country for quite a few years, but things never seemed to align for us. I received a phone call from my friend Luke in the Spring of 2015 and he asked if we wanted to fly out to do a tour with his band Know Your Saints sometime during the summer. The three of us said absolutely and made it happen. It's a great feeling to be able to check off goals on your bucket list.

What were the low point(s) of 2015?I don't know if there is an event that sticks out. As a band, we tend to really get along with each other and make the best of any moment. Personally, I'm sure we could each talk about something that happened that was a bummer, but maybe not something specific that represents the band as a whole. I will say that as a musician, the attack at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris is a low point.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
We played a show, in Portland, OR, on my 29th birthday. Usually, I am home for my birthday. This year I was touring a part of the country that I had never seen before so it felt very special. The line up for the Portland show was stacked. Any night that I get to see Great Apes and Know Your Saints on the same bill is a special night.

What have you been listening to in 2015?
I'm always seeking out new music and I feel like this answer could go on forever. These are a few bands that released new music that I've listened to on repeat this year. Pope, Upset, Waxahatchee, Still Alive, and All Dogs.

What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Earlier this year we recorded four new songs that are going to be available in 2016 on two different seven-inch releases. We are anxious for everyone to be able to hear these tracks. Aside from that, the three of us are always excited to see which cities we'll get to play in and where the next step will take us.

Callan Milward of Weatherstate
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
It's been a strong year for us. We've done a lot but I guess the most rewarding part of it has been simply getting out on the road and just playing. We were fortunate enough to share the stage with a lot of guys we look up to and lucky enough to make some great friends in the bands we toured with such as Trash Boat and Homebound. We just look forward to doing it all again in 2016.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
There's not been many severely low points with Weatherstate. We're mostly a positive bunch of lads despite what our lyrics suggest. The process of getting our new EP together hasn't been plain sailing but to be honest, those moments where shit hits the fan can be the biggest learning curves for us as a band. In short, it's a great way to learn and take a negative and turn it into a positive.
That's a tough one! Recently we smashed out two little shows in one day which started in a Brewery in Guildford, and finished at a house show in Bristol. That day was seriously fun. I think that takes the cake. We also got to meet a lot of cool people that day.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
There's been soooo many sick releases this year especially for UK bands. A few of my favourites have been Muskets' latest. Hindsights and Creeper have been knocking it out of the park as well. Our mates in Boston Manor have just killed it on a new EP too. We like to pride ourselves on new music but apart from that.. We just lock ourselves away, listen to Green Day and pretend it's 1994.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
First and foremost, we kick off the year with the release of our new EP Dumbstruck out on January 22nd on Failure By Design Records. We've been itching to get this out for a while and we're stoked to see what it brings. We're hoping to hit the road more so next year too. Keep your eyes peeled!

What were the high point(s) of 2015?
This whole year has been a blast for us all! A few high points that stand out in particular have to be the release of our debut EP SKRWD, our first UK headline tour with our brothers in Best Years, being signed by No Sleep Records, getting the chance to play with some of our favourite bands and the music video for our single Fair Weather being aired on Kerrang!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
To be honest, we haven't really had any low points at all this year up to now TOUCH WOOD! Our van broke down just before our tour with the dudes in Light You Up, but we got that sorted pretty quickly so that didn't really affect us too badly. So aside from a few technical problems live, which I suppose happens to everyone, we haven't been too bad!
Best gig in 2015 and why?
HANDS DOWN our best gig this year has to be our EP release show in our hometown of Liverpool! It was absolutely insane! The crowd all got involved; we had great support in Ben Barlow, Trash Boat, and Anti-Hero which all in all made the whole night one to remember for all of us!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
We all listen to different stuff really, this year has been a great year for pop-punk with insanely good albums dropping from top bands like Neck Deep, The Story So Far, State Champs, Knuckle Puck and Seaway, plus a lot of amazing releases from smaller bands too! Alex loves his heavy stuff a lot while myself and Kieren have been listening to Justin Bieber's new album. But yeah! We all vary in what we listen to quite a lot!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
I can pretty much say that we are definitely most excited for the Neck Deep Europe tour that we will be joining them on! Getting the chance to play shows for new people in different countries that we have never been before is like a dream come true for us! We are all SUPER stoked for this!
The Lion And The Wolf
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
I've had an amazing year and been able to tour all over the continent as well as play my first ever show on US soil at Fest back in November. Being able to tour full band for the first time was a real high point also as well as releasing the 7" that we tracked live.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
I try not to focus on low points, stay positive yo!
Hamburg Prinzenbar, without a doubt. We played in an old converted cinema which was the first to be built in Germany (1892 I believe) and I went to bed that night in a complete state of euphoria. We packed out the room, everybody was into it and we got three encores. Madness.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Quite a bit as I fairly recently upgraded my Spotify account. I think my favourite record of the year is either Sprained Ankle by Julien Baker or Beauty Behind The Madness by The Weeknd: absolute hits. Also No Closer To Heaven by The Wonder Years is a really great record.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
I have some really great plans for next year. The plan is to have my second record, which now has a title, out by late spring and then play some festivals here in the UK and over in mainland Europe. I intend on touring lots again like I have for the past two years and I am STOKED to play these new songs live.
The Helltons
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Priscillien : It's probably our U.S. tour with Rational Anthem in October, we met great people and saw wonderful places. It was our first time ever in America (even as tourists we've never been there!) and the experience was incredible as it's been a complete discovery for everyone in the band.
Nicolas : Obviously, the tour with Rational Anthem. We had a blast and made a lot of new friends, people were so nice with us. I'll also mention the release of our EP, cause after our "hiatus" it was like a new dawn, and also the Paper+Plastick signature, which is very exciting. Oh and personally, I don't forget the first time I ever smoked dabs. It was on the tour, in Florida I guess, with our drummer Got and our merchguy Servo. Thanks again guys.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
P : Probably the day Noelle from Rational Anthem called to tell us our guitars were stolen in their van. It was on the very first beginning of the tour in Chicago, we played only one show with these guitars and the day after they were gone... These lovely thieves have been kind enough to steal also the guitar amp that Rachel from Lipstick Homicide gave us for the tour and the bass amp from Rational Anthem. Maybe it sounds like we're too naive or something but stealing gear from bands doesn't happen that much in Europe or at least it never happened to anyone in our band, like ever. Even when we tour with our other bands... !
I think we can also mention another low point : the show we played with Banner Pilot in Paris in May. This evening was disastrous for every band who played : there was a noise suppressor/compressor in the venue, so everytime the band playing was too loud (we were all too loud actually) the microphones were just shutting down, and during the pauses between the songs the only thing we could hear was a big feedback. So frustrating.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
P : To my mind it's naturally Fest. It was the last show of the tour and we enjoyed everything about that gig, the sound, the crowd with some our friends from across the Atlantic, the catering, the drinks and all the journey in Gainesville. We played a really short set (20 minutes) but it was intense and enjoyable as fuck. For us at least...!
The other great show we played was the Monster Zero Mash in Paris with plenty of friends, partying two days long and enjoying pretty good pop-punk bands. Playing in our hometown with so many friends from all over Europe was awesome, it finally really felt like home.
N : I'd also say the Fest. It was unbelievable for us, there were a lot of friends, everything was perfect. I just can't wait to be back there. The only "bad thing" was to miss Pup, cause we played at the same time, but we definitely won't complain!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
P : A ton of bands, I listened a lot to the last Spraynard album and the first EP of Heavy Heart. But also to Everybody Row, Cold Heart Days, Timeshares, Memories, Boys, Marcovaldo, Chaviré, Burst One’s Side, Posture & the grizzly…
N : A lot too. But mainly bands like Radioactivity, Beach Slang, Wavves, Sugar Stems, Radiator Hospital, Night Birds, Beach House, Blur or Adrien Gallo.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
P : We're just pretty excited to record the new songs we played on the last tour and hit the road again.
N : Yes, can't wait to record it. I think it will be for a split, before making another LP.

What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Festival season was awesome this year, we played to lots and lots of people and got really sunburned. Also we played a hometown gig at The Library in Leeds which was really really fun: Jemal made buns with glitter in them, they were nice.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
A lot more equipment got broken than usual this year which is a bit rubbish, but we got to break it all in front of a load of people that really enjoyed watching us do it. Swings and roundabouts.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
It's hard to choose. Twisterella was really good. We played at Bungalows And Bears in Sheffield on our co-headline tour with Brawlers and we thought it was going to be terrible for a lot of reasons, but it turned out to be the best gig of the tour.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
All sorts. Swans, All The Best Tapes, My Bloody Valentine, Louise Distras, Salvage My Dream, Forever Cult, Vukovi, Aphex Twin, Sigur Ros, Baby In Vain, Ulrich Schnaus, DJ Chile, loads. Listen to them all NOW!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
The prospect of doing this for another year!
The Bastard Sons
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
There's been quite a few for us, going on tour with Snot, recording our debut album Smoke and just playing shows in general. A high point is definitely releasing Smoke and seeing such an awesome reaction from everyone! It hit number two in the iTunes Metal chart and we got some pretty nice reviews from magazines we've all read for years!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Thankfully there haven't been many low points for us! Although one pretty low point was hitting a pheasant at 70mph on the way to Glasgow. Completely destroyed the windscreen on the van! RIP Mr. Pheasant.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Our tour with Snot was a highlight but the London date of the tour at The Garage, in particular, was amazing! A completely sold out show and just a great night all round!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
There's been so many great albums out this year but firm favourites with us all have been the new albums by While She Sleeps, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and Bring Me The Horizon.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Getting out on the road a lot more and playing songs from Smoke! Showing people how we've really upped our game in terms of the live show and playing places we haven't been to yet!
Millie Manders
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
We have had such a fun year this year, and so much about it has been awesome! Firstly, having a successful Pledge campaign: having so much amazing support from our fans has been an incredible experience and I am so grateful! Horace Panter and Lynval Golding of The Specials watching us play and saying they loved it was so humbling. I've been a lifelong fan, so it was and is a very emotional thing. Touring and sharing stages with some of the most amazing musicians has also been mind blowing. To say I am thankful of this year's opportunities is such an understatement.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
I have no idea what I could say about low points... I feel so blessed for what my band and I experienced last year in every way!
My band and I have played so many brilliantly organised, vibrant and beautiful gigs and festivals this year, but for me personally I think Tramlines in Sheffield was my favourite. We played the Riverside, supporting Steel City Rhythm and Smiling Ivy. The atmosphere in there was just electric. The place was jumping, and SCR and SI are all such incredibly good people, not to mention wicked live bands.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Pretty much the Popes Of Chillitown album To The Moon. Non stop. I can't help it... The horn hooks to me are like crack for my ears...
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
SO MUCH IS EXCITING ABOUT 2016!! And I can't announce it all yet.... Things I can say are that we have a tour booked in April taking us to some towns we've been wanting to visit for a long time, we are playing the London International Ska Festival supporting The Beat, Sonic Boom Six and Treehouse Fire on March 26th and we have a few festivals to be announced in the new year. I can hardly sit still about a lot of the stuff coming up!!
Better Than Never
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
2015 was a great year in a lot of ways because it saw us have the opportunity to start taking real steps forward with the band. For us the main highlight was recording our first EP with Neil Kennedy at The Ranch, who'd worked with bands such as Trash Boat and Boston Manor, so it was a great experience to be able to work with a producer of that nature. It was also the first real studio experience we'd had as a band. Prior to this we'd only recorded and released home demos. It also saw the inclusion of two new members, and the beginning of us becoming a six-piece band, which has opened the door to new ideas in songwriting and performance that just weren't possible before.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?

Best gig in 2015 and why?
It's hard to narrow down as we've had some excellent shows such as The Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham, supporting Landmarks and Kilkovec on their UK tour; or possibly Bullingdon, Oxford with Only Rivals and Boy Jumps Ship; maybe even worth including Surya London with Daylight. The main thing all these gigs had in common was that we got to meet some really cool lads from all the bands on the bill those nights, it's really great when you meet people passionate about the same things as yourself as there is so much support and good vibes between everyone on the evening.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Colour Blind by Seaway is filled with fantastical jams, Four Year Strong's new self-titled being a similar story, and for some reason, Will is insisting we throw Justin Bieber's new album onto the list as well...
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
2016 will see the release of our EP which we recorded over summer. The wait has felt so long for us, but we're super excited to drop it and hear people's thoughts on how we've done with it. We've got a few more things alongside the release too which we are all excited about, although that's a little more behind the scenes at the moment.
Bad Ideas
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Getting our new drummer Nate on board and playing our first shows with him at the start of the year. Playing Groezrock festival in May. Recording a full length album at Greenmount Studios in Leeds (yet to be released) and touring with Tellison, while trying not to act like the mega fans we are. It's been a pretty great year for us!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Sam was homeless for the first two months, which was fairly awful but that certainly helped with writing songs for the new record. I think we've avoided any major scrapes.. although we've run out of work holiday now, so we're looking forward to getting back on the road next year and a long run back in Germany!
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Groezrock Festival in Belgium. It's a festival we all go to most years and therefore a real landmark for us to be able to play.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
We all listen to very different things, so I'll try think of some common ground for this one... The new Tellison album! Beach Slang, The Smith Street Band, Randy Newman and recently Placebo (after friends keep saying our new record sounds like their early material).
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Releasing our new self titled album. We've been sat on it for a while now, working with our new manager Ryan and looking for the right people to release with. We put our hearts, souls and overdrafts into it and it's the hardest thing ever not just throw it out online for everyone to hear! Hopefully early next year we'll be touring hard again and taking a big box of freshly pressed vinyl with us!!
Brutal Youth
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Touring Europe. Releasing custom coloured P+P skull toys in conjunction with our new 7".
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Missing Fest. Losing three drummers.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
The Gaswerk in Winterthur. Our drive for the day was planned to be six hours but we ended up driving for eighteen straight hours including getting stuck in a seven hour snowstorm where traffic came to a complete stop. We managed to get there anyway, walking in the door only being ten minutes late for our set. Also seeing a Swiss crowd go off like that, because they're usually so much more reserved but spirits were so high because we basically pulled a miracle out of our asses.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Pears, School Damage, Mansbridge, Direct Hit, After The Fall, and demos for our new record.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
New album in spring 2016. Seconnd European tour. Fest 2016 ( if they'll have us). More touring in general. Pouzza Fest in Montreal.
Elasea
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
I think the whole release process of our EP Where I Belong was a particularly high point, we also played some good shows in the lead up.
We lost our drummer, found a replacement, then had to find another replacement! We think we have solved the curse now.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Supporting Funeral For A Friend at the O2 Academy in Oxford or the New:Music Competition in our home town of Newbury which we went on to win!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Loads of great albums this year, to name a few bands we've been listening to are Bring Me The Horizon, Don Broco, Young Guns, Pvris, Lower Than Atlantis, and many more!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
We're soon to be filming a new music video which we're really excited about, also announcing our new drummer and getting some shows booked! We've also been writing absolutely loads since the release of 'Where I Belong' so we can't wait to start playing the new material at shows.
Daniel from The Run Up
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
For me, having finally getting around to releasing the EP (via Paper + Plastick). We've had a long year with a few set backs but getting these songs out is big relief, so thank you to Paper + Plastick for putting it out.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
As mentioned above, we've had a few set backs in terms of line up changes but we've finally settled all that. I guess it's not music related but a low point for us has been the whole world fucking shit up for everyone. Also losing two absolute heroes and influence-rs, Dickie Hammond and Brandon Carlisle. RIP.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
I would say the last day of a mini-tour with Hellwinners. It was in their home town of Brighton, in a tiny but packed venue. It was a free show on a Saturday night and everyone got messy, got involved and had fun. Just one of those nights where everything is alright!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Where to start! here have been tonnes of good releases this year. Western Settings', Yes It Is has been spinning a lot. That has possibly been my favourite album of the year. Then there has been our friends Bong Mountain, with their You're Doing Great EP, absolute hit. Podacter, Plays The Millennial Blues is also rad. Caskitt from San Diego, their new album This Machine Kills Sadness is pretty great. I could go on.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
We have a fair amount planned for 2016 including recording a bunch of new tracks which will hopefully be on a few splits. Firstly though we have a UK tour and then heading to Northern France to hand over the proceeds of the EP: you can grab a copy here: http://paperplastickeu.limitedrun.com/products/562493-the-run-up-scared-of-everything. I think for all of us, that will be an important moment.
Everybody Looks Famous
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
We have had loads this year, it's been awesome! Touring for us is always a high point. Recording with John at Outhouse Studios was amazing too and of course the release of Fiction! Roll on 2016!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Definitely none! Just things getting bigger and better its amazing! Not negativity from our side this year.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
That's a tough one, especially being as the year hasn't finished yet! Our hometown show in Birmingham was pretty awesome. Everyone was really pumped for the show which was amazing. We love it when we can play off everybody and they are loving it as much as we are!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
We have been listening to a tonne of PVRIS, which is probably rubbing off a little bit! Even so, we are all spreading our wings a bit a listening to a load more artists and genres. Big into John Mayer year this too. Tonnes of songs that we written recently have been influenced by music we have listened to this year. We can't wait to share them with you all!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
What's exciting for us about 2016 is more of the same as 2015. Shows are getting bigger and overall interest in the band is getting bigger and bigger. We cannot wait to see what next year holds! Its going to be a big one for sure.
Exist Immortal
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Touring all over the UK and Europe, Tech Fest, and writing our second release were all particular highlights!
Definitely having to make a member change half-way through the year. Luckily this was sorted fairly smoothly so it didn't slow things down too much!
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Our final show with our guitarist Monty back in May in London. It was a really great send off! Or Tech Fest, we were a last minute announcement but the turnout kind of blew us away a bit! Both shows had really memorable vibes.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Loads! The new Fightstar record was brilliant, as was the latest BMTH record. Kendrick Lamar's and Cloudkicker's new records are also sick!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Releasing new music and playing lots of shows! We have been working on a new release over the past few months and really can't wait for people to hear it.
Catch Fire

This year has been really busy for us, we've been hard at work writing and recording our debut EP, we changed our name, and we filmed a music video. Our highlight would have to be playing with Blood Youth and Trash Boat back in July though. That show was nuts and people seemed into our stuff! Recording was also a lot of fun too; we all spent a week down in Wrexham, and we all finally got the chance to spoon each other in a Travelodge.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
I'm not sure we've had a low point, although it was a bit of a setback losing our old vocalist. However that did kind of spur us on and motivate us to get things moving and everything seemed to work out in the end.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Our best gig was obviously playing with Blood Youth and Trash Boat. It was really cool to play with bands that we're into, and the crowd was probably the most active we've had so far. We managed to sell one shirt too at a fiver. GET IN!
What have you been listening to in 2015? JEEEZ, what haven't we been listening to in 2015…There have been some insane albums released this year, The Story So Far's self-titled, Knuckle Puck's Copacetic, Seaway's Colour Blind, and Counterparts' Tragedy Will Find Us are the main albums we've enjoyed this year.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
We, as a band, are looking forward to 2016 as we're releasing our debut EP, and we're gonna play a shitload of shows, and hopefully get on some tours, and record new music. We're excited to get our stuff out there and have fun.
Vaadat Charigim
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Hopefully, the December 17th Star Wars premiere.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
2015 election results in Israel. Endless bummer.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
You don't get that many gigs in Tel Aviv, but I did see Deerhoof in Switzerland on tour, and I'm glad they are still touring and making great music. I grew up on their first records.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
William Basinski, and Tim Hecker.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Going to SXSW and to tour the states with Vaadat Charigim. Getting away from our day jobs and into the van is always something to look forward to.
More Than Most
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
2015 has been a great year for us as a band, but we owe most of that to our amazing fanbase: the MTM Family. Being a band full of nomads in London (an Algerian, Brazilian, American and a British forces kid), most of our fans were online strangers to begin with. Now, they're the most die hard, loyal and mental group you could meet. Playing our first ever show at the O2 Academy 2 in Islington it was amazing to meet so many of these people for the first time. In fact, that night was a sell out. A few months later we sold it out again, this time headlining! We knew then that we were on to something and wanted to continue the momentum. We completed our first tours out of London, started getting regular airplay and interviews and even got two of our singles featured on Scuzz TV! Playing our first festivals (Takedown Festival and Camden Rocks) with some incredible acts have to be the main highlights though! At Camden Rocks, hanging out with Matt Davies from Funeral From A Friend and Nate Barcalow from Finch, however fleeting, was surreal.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
A recent low point for us was the recent departure of our friend and guitarist Daniel Allan. He didn't want to leave and we didn't want him to go, but sometimes personal circumstances dictate. He's been cool too and will play the rest of our shows throughout November and December. The good news is that we have a lot of interest in his replacement. That's band life I guess. The MTM machine moves forward.
One of the craziest moments for us as a band was playing a prime-time 7pm slot on the Southampton Music Introducing Stage at Takedown Festival on the same bill as Mallory Knox, Charlie Simpson, The Blackout and Fort Hope. We didn't know what to expect but seeing a queue of our fans, some of whom had travelled from places as far flung as the US and Germany, was so crazy. We played the set of our lives to a packed out crowd. It was amazing! We're gutted that the festival is on hiatus next year otherwise we would have really loved the opportunity to play there again. We're so grateful to those guys for giving us that opportunity.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
We're always listening to new music, across the genres. We're willing to be inspired and motivated by any piece of music if it's good. That said, in my opinion (I can't speak for the rest of the band), the best albums of 2015 so far have been from Bring Me The Horizon, That's The Spirit and Neck Deep's Life's Not Out To Get You. I'm pretty excited to see what will come from Good Charlotte getting back together too. The teenager in me is loving it, though I'm not over-enamoured by their new track Makeshift Love.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
We're not resting on our laurels and we're always working hard on something. We're hoping 2016 is going to be a big year for us! We've been applying to every festival we can get our hands on, got a few gigs lined up already with some big acts. Also, straight after the release of our EP in Feb we've also booked in to record our debut album with Oliver Craggs (Feed The Rhino bassist and producer at Hidden Track Studios) in April. Been writing some promising tunes. Obviously we'll hit up The Punk Archive next year for a review of the album. You guys don't mince your words, but we appreciate that.
Delayed Departure
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Probably the highlight of 2015 was finishing our new EP Consequences, it was amazing to finally be able to hear all the ideas we had in our heads now transposed as actual songs. Another incredible experience had to be filming our music video for our song Ocean; it was incredibly casual and relaxed and was actually just a great day out in Eastbourne.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Near the start of the year our singer was out for a long time with quite a serious heart problem, and unfortunately through this period it was incredibly hard to write new material and due to obvious reasons we couldn't do any gigs, and so it meant we were quiet through the year on that front.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
This has to be our pre-release show at Bracknell's Cellar Bar. For us it was a pivotal moment that defined why we are a band and why we make the music that we do, it was a fantastic turn out and most importantly, seemingly everyone really enjoyed the show and for us it was incredible having such a natural and explosive reaction from the audience to our new EP.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
There are a whole host of new albums and singles that we have been listening to during 2015, most notably Bring Me The Horizon's That's The Spirit and Don Broco's Automatic. However, we have also been listening to slightly older albums such as Mallory Knox's Asymmetry, Deaf Havana's Fools and Worthless Liars and Hand Like Houses' Unimagine.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
The main things that are exciting us are obviously the release of our EP on January 22nd, however, other things include a possible new recording after that, another music video and potentially a tour. On a personal level I think a lot of us are excited for jamming out to the new Hands Like Houses album which is out in December, Yashin's new album, Deaf Havana's new album and going to see lots of gigs in 2016, as well as doing our own.
Such Strange Arts
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
The high point of our 2015 would definitely have to be signing to Standby Records! When you start a band you dream about signing a record deal, so to make that dream a reality this year was pretty special.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
The lowest point for the band was probably the summer of 2015 as a whole (ironic for a pop-punk band, we know!). Having to sort of 'sit on our hands' and wait to get all this new music and content out to fans, and not being able to tell anyone about it was pretty tough. This coupled with things happening in our individual personal lives definitely made it a bit of a down period.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
We've had a few! One of the most memorable was definitely our headline show at The Hermit in Brentwood towards the beginning of the year: the show sold out in advance (the first time we'd ever had this at a headline show), and there were so many people that didn't manage to get in that we went outside with an acoustic guitar and played some acoustic songs on the street for everyone! Also memorable was our Halloween show; we're all nerds so being able to go onstage dressed as our favourite Marvel heroes and DC villains was fun!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
A bit of everything really! Everything from Bieber, Twenty One Pilots, 5SOS, Set It Off and Kanye through to The Eagles, Crossfaith, Bring Me The Horizon and Slipknot!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
We can't wait to finally be releasing the Waking the Neighbours EP in January, along with it being our first ever release through a record label! We're also heading out on the Waking the Neighbours Tour (our first 'proper' tour) in February too which will be fun. As for the rest of the year, we are just excited to see what comes about off the back of the new release and to see what we can do to make 2016 Such Strange Arts' best year yet!
Ze Gran Zeft
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
On December 3rd we release #MILLENNIALKIDS, first single off our first album featuring Mopreme Shakur. Yes, 2pac's brother!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
You've never seen ZGZ live. And that's what gonna make your 2016's high point!
Best gig in 2015 and why?
FestRock in Toulon, hometown back in 9/12, cause it was the very first stage we played with ZGZ in 2011! Souvenir!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar, That's The Spirit by Bring Me The Horizon, Uptown Special from Mark Ronson, Compton by Dr. Dre and At.Long.Last.A$ap by A$ap Rocky.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
MMXVI is the year you'll discover the new icon of this new generation. ZGZ is the future. Get ready.
Orion
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
I think releasing our single has been the highest point this year. It's been such a fun experience working with people outside the band for the first time for both recording and shooting the video. It's been really exciting hearing and seeing really talented people vastly improve what we had envisioned ourselves! Prior to this we had recorded and produced everything ourselves so it was a really fun experience for us all!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?

Best gig in 2015 and why?
It was a little before 2015, but in November 2014 I played my first gig with Orion supporting Devil Sold His Soul in Bristol. We had technical difficulties but it was just so fun to play and we got to chill and play with our good mates in Valis Ablaze too! It was just a really fun experience….Perhaps influenced by it all being new to me!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Most listened-to material would have to be the latest Agent Fresco, and the latest Contortionist releases! They're both amazing albums that its just so easy to lose yourself in!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
We're really excited to release our new album. Its the first time we've seen writing contributions from every member of the band so its been great to hear material that is very literally us! We just hope people are going to love it!
Audio Poets
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Anyone knows or can assume that forming a band and working your way to fame is tedious, but that doesn't stop anyone from enduring countless moments of happiness and joy. I believe one of the best moments of 2015 was recording our new record and spending time in a professional studio.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
There were plenty of depressing times this year. We planned to relocate to California after recording and faced tremendous obstacles along the way, leading us back to Texas. We spent a lot of time moving around and leaving behind the people we care about. We had a lot of band drama happen as well, which really put Bru (guitarist) and I (Chris) in a rut. All in all, it was a struggle to get where we are now, but we're doing everything we can to keep our heads above water.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
We played a huge Texas festival in March called South By So What?!. It was a remarkable experience. We met so many new fans and new friends.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Man, a ton. We all enjoy listening to so much different music. A few of the artists I always enjoy jamming are Twenty One Pilots, Falling In Reverse, The Bravery, Childish Gambino, and The Fratellis.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
So much. We'll perform our first full band show with new members and the new record, which includes a UK tour being planned now. We just wanna play as many shows as possible and get our brand out literally as far as we can!
Coast to Coast
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Definitely finishing our debut EP Lessons Learned, releasing it through Maxtreme Records here in Japan, and then the tour we did to support the release.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
The unfortunate loss of a couple of members. It's always tough when stuff like that happens, but we know we'll be stronger in the end.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Without a doubt the show where we opened for Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and A Loss Without Words.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
A range of stuff, but mostly new albums from our favourite artists. The new albums from BMTH, Like Moths to Flames, State Champs, In Her Own Words, and a lot more.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
2016 is set to be a big year for us. We're currently writing for a full length that we'll be recording next year. We're also currently working out the details for a few tours and festivals here in Japan, as well as possibly a two to three week run in the US!

Devilstrip
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Playing some great shows with bands that we really admire, and holding our own. Playing with Tim "Ripper" Owens on the American TV show Bar Rescue. And our debut album Rise continues to garner fans worldwide.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Band-wise, no complaints. I'd say the horrific attacks in Paris has to be any musician's low point. Thinking of putting your fans or your self in harm's way doing what we all love is both heartbreaking and infuriating.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Opening for Europe at the House of Blues in Cleveland. Amazing crowd and it was a chance for us to learn from consummate professionals. The Buckcherry show was also bad-ass - down & dirty roll and roll.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Black Stone Cherry, Slipknot, Foo Fighters and listening to the new tracks we have written for the next record!
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
The UK launch of our album January 22nd: it's big fucking deal for us as an American band! We will hopefully be following that with our first UK tour. We also have a couple of things in the works that we have to keep close to the vest.
Cambion
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
I think when we realized that our album isn't far off being written, and the songs are starting to shape up well. Good vibes in the band all round!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
I think when we had to cancel a few shows this year we where all pretty down about it, our bassist had dislocated a bunch of his fingers, and our front man had lost his voice, me and him also had some horrific "Virus" (Pun intended) but stuff happens and wasn't long before we were back at it!
Our best show I think has to be a very memorable gig we did at the Oxford O2, highly refreshing and one of the ones you come away from nodding your head with a smile! The crowd were amazing, the sound and lights where just phenomenal!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
We've been loving the new Tesseract album that came out this year, along with No Consequences' masterpiece, Vimana.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
We've got a great tour coming up early next year, along with the recording of our album which we can't wait to begin. I think next year's going to be a big year for us, lots going on!
Speaking In Shadows
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
2015 has been a really great year for us. We wrote and recorded what we think is the best material we've ever come up with (and possibly ever?), as well as performed it across the UK. We also played across Germany and the Netherlands in June, which was just amazing!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
We had about 400 rental vans break down on us. Thankfully, nothing serious. We should really stop using that van place.
Best gig in 2015 and why?

What have you been listening to in 2015?
We listened to the new Tesseract CD quite a lot on the last tour. We also tend to listen to bands we tour with, I suppose it's because we always have their CDs lying about! I'm still listening to Chasing Cadence, Cardinal and The Rooz from our October tour.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
We can't wait to get stuck into 2016. We've got loads of new releases, shows etc... but before we get stuck into that, we've got one a surprise or two left of this year! Keep an eye on our Facebook!
Moriaty
All the shows have been class. We did a hip-hop set with our mates The Scribes at one point which was insane. And had our Irish counterparts New Valley Wolves join us for another tour.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Having the free bottle of Jack Daniels we were given at Boardmasters smash to bits when we arrived at our second show of the day!
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Supporting Muse on the Psycho tour... Because we were supporting Muse on the Psycho tour...
What have you been listening to in 2015?
New Valley Wolves and Naz.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
New record, a hip-hop collaboration EP. Touring and generally getting back in the saddle.
1968
Well, we got off to a slow start in January with a few small shows and then went full throttle into recording our debut EP at Skyhammer Studios in February. Since the initial recording, we went on to work hard to do a small run of CDs, of which Jon Davis of Conan asked if we would like to release on his label Black Bow Records as digital download and eventually a vinyl, which we are very pleased to do. One major highlight was playing at Percy's in Whitchurch which has become one of our favourite venues, we have a lot of time for the guys that run the place and they always allow us to shake their throats and walls.
2015 had its turbulence though; we were forced to cancel a couple of shows due to The Bear (bass) shooting himself in the hand with a crossbow. That aside, we also ended up playing some great shows with Red Spektor, Kurokuma and Sons of Andal throughout 2015. We were approached by a snowboard film company to add one of our tracks to some of their footage, which we were more than happy to do and it worked out very well. We’re already booking shows for 2016, notably an EP launch at Telfords Warehouse on January 15th.
Guardian
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Getting our debut album Revolution completely finished was an absolutely massive high point for us. The songwriting process took just under two years, we wanted to be 100% happy with every note and beat within every song we wrote and after so many hours of hard work and effort, we finally had a finished product we couldn't be any happier with.
Zac: Personally I would say that the few gigs we played on our UK tour in April was a low point for me. It really opened my eyes to why bands in the UK scene are really struggling. Not dropping any names or wanting to tarnish any one band but the amount of disrespect shown by some bands disgusted me. After sitting in a van for ten hours and letting five or more supports use your back line, you would assume that those band members would actually stick around and watch your set... Well you'd think that wouldn't you? The amount of times I have seen a band pack their guitars away after their set then leave straight away was astounding, and then they wonder why they're not going places!
Best gig in 2015 and why?
It has to be a tie between the most intense gig we have ever played, at a small underground venue called Head of Steam in Newcastle and a show that we played at the O2 Academy in Newcastle. On one side our peformance at the Head of Steam thrived off the energy and destruction that happened during the show. The PA was nearly ripped down a couple of times and bodies were flying all over to songs we hadn't played live yet (as they are off our album). To see that kind of reception and madness was an amazing feeling. On the other hand playing a venue that is a renowned UK venue, not to mention where three or four of us have wanted to play since we were about twelve years old, was a dream come true. Being surrounded by real professionals and respect made the night really special. Its crazy to think that we have a headline show there to release our album.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Collectively we all listen to a real wide spectrum of music, which is probably why we all work together really well when it comes to writing our own material!
Matthew: Parkway Drive, Slipknot, As I Lay Dying, Emmure, Immortal Technique, Dr Dre, The Ghost Inside, Fit For A King, Volumes, 2Pac, JME and Skepta
Zac: Pantera, Bleeding Through, Resist the Thought, Breakdown of Sanity, August Burns Red, Anti-Flag, Fit for a King, Kingdom of Giants, Heart of a Coward and Malevolence
Cory: King 810, The Last Ten Seconds of Life, Within the Ruins, Humanity's Last Breath, Veil of Maya and Sylosis
Josh: The Hell, The Black Dahlia Murder, Psycroptic, Akala, Destrage, Sikth
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
I'm most excited about getting the opportunity to play our new tracks live as far across the globe as we possibly can, meeting tonnes of new people and seeing so many different cultures within a short period of time. There is literally nothing in this world that can compare to the feeling that playing your own music so far away from home gives you. We spent so long writing and recording our debut full length release Revolution, ideally we want to tour the album for as long as it took for us to write it.
Leatherneck
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
We've had the opportunity to work alongside some really talented people, and played with some really great musicians in the process. Towards the end of this year we've began to work with Jamie from FITA Records who's been fantastic to work with, so we're definitely looking forward to starting 2016 within the FITA family.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
We've had a couple of setbacks this year in terms of member changes etc, but I think we've just tried to take it in our stride and get on with it. If anything it's given us a push to step up a gear and focus more on crafting our sound, which has been something we've focused on heavily over the last few months.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
We played a show at Santiago's in Leeds back in August with Gravity Grave, Downers, Bitter Youth, Flowermouth and Sonder which was a great experience. Amazing crowd, everything was well organised and the turn out was spot on. We've been lucky to play some decent shows this year but Leeds definitely stood out for us.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
There's been quite a few releases that we've been excited about this year, but our mates in Claw The Thin Ice released their second full length Exercise back in March through Get Into It Records which is an absolute banger. We've been listening to Out Of The Bloom by Fiddlehead, Winter Break's Self-titled and Predatory Highlights by Tenement. All are some of the best records out this year.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
We've got a six track due for release through FITA Records early next year, which we begin recording next month, so we're really excited to start working closely with them. We've also got a tour or two in the pipeline as well so hopefully we'll have a busy start to the year!
Day Old Hate
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Where do we start?! Making the cut for the Radio 1 playlist back in February was definitely a high point for the band, getting our music out to such a vast audience on a platform like that was incredible. Another great moment for the band was our UK tour in April, playing loads of different cities and venues we'd never had the pleasure of doing before was a blast. Not forgetting recording with the awesome Romesh Dodangoda again for a week in August was also something we'll never forget.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
First thing that springs to mind is when our guitarist Ben broke his hand in four places after an altercation with a lamppost on Halloween. But in all seriousness, one thing that's always going to be a low point for a band at our level is not being able to tour as much as we'd like to. Playing to crowds around the country on tour and at festivals this year was an experience we'll never forget, and the fact we didn't get to do it as much as we wanted was a bit gutting. However, we do intend to rectify this and tour as much as possible in the coming year.
Also…we were really disappointed that Zayn left One Direction... #1D
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Best gig and Y? (sorry)
Y Not Festival! Without a doubt one of the best shows we've played. Awesome crowd, big tent and sharing a bill with a load of our influences, most notably Snoop Dogg. Our headline show in Leeds on our April tour is definitely a close second though.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
So much great music has been released this year from all genres of music. Our personal highlights are below…
Bring Me The Horizon, That's The Spirit
PVRIS, White Noise
PVRIS, White Noise
Justin Bieber, Purpose
Don Broco, Automatic
Arcane Roots, Heaven & Earth
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
Releasing our new EP First Light is definitely our highest priority at the moment. We're so excited to get this new music out there, it's been a long time coming. Touring, festivals and loads of new releases are all on the way as well, its all exciting times! Oh and finally finding out what happened to Jon Snow!
Hercules Morse
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
2015 was rad. We released an EP and everyone told us how great it was and how amazing we are. The highlight was probably being asked to record a live session for BBC Introducing. Big up the Beeb.
Erm... band-wise, things have been fairly awesome, but lots of terrible things happened in the world this year and we (the UK) elected a Conservative government. Bugger.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
That would have to be our EP Launch show at The Joiners, Southampton. Hometown shows are always special, and this one was totally electric! The crowd were incredible. We also got to play a show at the O2 Academy Islington this year, which was pretty swell.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
One of our favourite bands released a record this year which is mind-blowingly good. They're called
Science of Eight Limbs and the EP is called 88 Mph. Not listening to it would be a crime. Also, Tigercub's Repressed Semantics is a banger.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
Being egomaniacs, we're most excited about our own plans for more recording in 2016! We've got some killer new material up our sleeves, and we can't wait to get it recorded and out there!
Forever Still
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Our first UK headlining tour together with the release of our Save Me EP. This was our first time in the UK and we've wanted to go for a long time. We have a tour sheet on our website (foreverstill.dk/tour) where people can suggest the city they want us to go to and the suggestions definitely called for a UK-tour, so we decided to make it happen. It was so great finally meeting people we've been talking to online for years! We also released our EP Save Me which is part two of three EPs that now make up our full-length concept album Tied Down.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?

Best gig in 2015 and why?
Like I've already mentioned, we did have an amazing first UK tour, and we had some truly great experiences with some wonderful people. Our most recent gig at the Swedish Rock at Sea with Accept, Crucified Barbara, Slade and so on was really something that stood out as well! It's a huge 12-deck cruise ship filled to the brim with 2,500 rockers. It was completely sold out and the vibe was fantastic, it was clear people were there to have a good time, and I think everyone was! I don't know when we'll get to experience something like that again.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
It changes every day, so for 2015 that would amount to a lot! Winter is getting close and Denmark has gotten a lot darker and colder and that calls for something a little darker and heavier. At this very moment it's past midnight and I'm listening to some late night Marriages. I've enjoyed the latest album from Northlane this year as well as Nothing More, the last of which we were going to support when they visited Denmark if it wasn't because their gig was on the same day we were playing Rock At Sea. I was also reminded of Marmozets again, and even though it's not my usual style of music, the vocals are enough to draw me in, they're phenomenal. Björk is an artist I'll often return to, thank God for that many albums. I've also been tapping into some Bring Me the Horizon now that I was going to see them live this fall for the first time.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
Our upcoming debut album is definitely what's on our minds at the moment! We'll be releasing it January 15, and we're currently working on exclusive pre order bundles that our fans have helped us pick out. We're shooting the music video for the album single as we speak and already have several more videos in the work for the album, one of which we've been working on for the past four months. We're also planning our European album release tour and I think it's safe to say already that we'll make a return to the UK in 2016.
Huron
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Headlining the Takeover Stage at Download Festival definitely tops the list! It was packed, with truly epic circle pits breaking out throughout our set. Also heading out with the fantastic One Machine on a UK Tour was a highlight, playing venues like the Bierkeller, Snooty Fox and the London Barfly. Must do it again fellas!!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Our high point was also our low point, Sean the founding member and vocalist called it a day after that show, it was a long thought out decision and something he felt he needed to do to pursue other avenues. An awesome show to bow out on and a neat way to tie up a long career with Huron.
We could go on and on describing the brilliant shows we've been involved in this year, but the stand out, and we're repeating ourselves here, was our invite to headline a stage at the legendary Download Festival. Being given an opportunity to play something like that, especially to an unsigned band, is so rare. Never did we know you could experience a range of emotions at once, from sheer terror to the excitement and will to pull off the biggest show of our careers and to prove Huron are a force to be reckoned with, so expectations were high! It really is something you can't put into words walking out onto a stage in front of thousands of people to play songs into which you've poured everything you have. It really justified all the hard work and sacrifice necessary to make a band successful, setting you up mentally for the next big thing.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Like our music the bands members listening habits are varied, a few notable offerings that we've not been able to take out of the stereos come from the new Heart of a Coward, Sylosis, Slayer and Artillery albums. It's reassuring to hear the new and old guard still creating music that will surely shape and secure the future of metal to come.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
2016 for us is do or die, we're throwing everything we've got at it. Along with a new lineup our brand new album, The Dead Stay Dead is due for release on the 12th February. We'll also be going on a UK tour with Falling Red and Dead Label, first date being on the 23rd February at the Yardbirds in Grimsby, so be sure to come check us out! Keep up to date with all news on our Facebook page...
See you on the road!
Harker
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Getting out to play Europe for the first time, and getting the latest EP put out on Paper+Plastick. Europe was a real eye opener for us, and was amazing getting to play different places, to such enthusiastic audiences, who apparently knew our songs before we'd arrived. We also met some amazing people and made a lot of new friends, especially with the bands we played with: Casually Dressed, Flatline Walkers and The Dead Notes. However, getting picked up by Paper+Plastick was a huge highlight for us. When we got the mixes back for the new EP, we knew we had produced something great that we were proud of. So getting the initial messages from Paper+Plastick was a real boost to us as a band: it was just awesome hearing from people that loved the record as much as we did.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Lack of a regular drummer, meaning we had a fair bit of inactivity when we really wanted to be out playing, writing new songs and recording.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
There are a few that spring to mind. A lot of the Europe shows were amazing, especially the first couple in Heidelberg and Freiberg (with Astpai), however Graz and Zurich were particular highlights. We'd had a horrendous twelve hour drive to Graz Sub, and everyone was miserable, hungry and knackered. However, we met a few people that knew Harker already (and Mark's solo stuff in particular) which bought our moods up, and when we kicked into the first song, the place just exploded. Zurich Dynamo was another great show, where we had a few people that had seen us previously on the tour turn up for a second helping. Was weird to see people arriving wearing Harker shirts! The Dynamo is an awesome venue, and I was particularly excited to be playing there, as I'd played there a few years previously in a different band. And there needs to be an honourable mention to the Ducie Bridge show in Manchester with Red City Radio, which was another cracking night, playing to a packed room, and supporting a band that we very quickly became fans of.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
CHURCHES, Open Every Eye
Ceremony, The L Shaped Man
Beach Slang, Things We Do
Nervosas, Nervosas (S/T)
Wolf Alice, My Love Is Cool
Red City Radio, Red City Radio (S/T)
Grimes, Art Angels
toyGuitar, In this Mess
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
Getting a permanent drummer, doing more gigs in the UK, going back to Europe again, finding new and exciting ways to make horrible noises with our guitars, and getting started on the album!
Continents
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Recording our second album and seeing everyone's reactions to the new material after taking six months off. Seeing the response and turnout we had at Hevy Fest as we didn't expect it to pack out like it did as we only opened the main stage...it was way above our expectations. Same with Ghostfest!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Dealing with all the bad press our label has had over Spotify and certain bands. It shouldn't be our business but it is when you got people coming up to you saying they will never buy anything again from them....'I mean don't worry about your so-called mates' band, cheers for the support!!'
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Hevy Fest as we had never played a stage of that scale before and didn't expect the turn out we had: it was packed to the back and loads of people singing along and going crazy to the new material. We just felt in our element and that show opened up new doors for us for next year.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Been listening to a lot of Barrier, Beartooth and Pvris and obviously all the old school garage tunes when in the van!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Our tour with Kingdom of Giants in February as we are hitting places we have never been to in Europe and all the festival talk for the summer. There are plenty of other tours we are excited about just can't announce them yet....... and Batman vs Superman and Suicide Squad Movies.
Aled from Smokey Bastard
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
The highest point for us was the release of our third album Back to the Drawing Room. Writing and recording the album was a lengthy process which started back in 2012 so finally getting it out there was definitely a proud moment.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?

Best gig in 2015 and why?
The album launch in our hometown of Reading was definitely our best 2015 gig! Great support bands and a big crowd are what made it.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Slipknot, Eagles Of Death Metal, Muse, John Coffey, Manchester Orchestra, Random Hand, a podcast where 2 guys go slowly insane by watching and reviewing Sex And The City 2 every week...
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
We're getting back on the road to promote the new album so we're really looking forward to gigging more and hitting the festivals.
Earl Grey
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Definitely our first European and UK tour with Yeah Detroit. We had the best time ever and miss the guys a lot.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
I would say the lowest point was on tour too. Our van got stuck in France and we couldn't make it to the ferry in time. We even thought the van was broken and slept in a parking lot somewhere in France. When finally arrived in Calais, we got pulled over by border control and thought we'd miss our next ferry too. All of this happened in one day and I'm pretty sure it was one of the worst days of our lives.
Best gig of 2015 and why?
I'd say Wrexham. A lot of our friends from the UK came out to this and it was nice seeing them. People were going crazy and there was people stagediving and singing along all the time. We couldn't really believe it since we were so far from home and didn't expect that at all. Life is strange sometimes.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
There's only a few bands that we all dig. Some of the bands everyone likes are Expire, Joyce Manor, Tigers Jaw, Title Fight, Trophy Eyes and The Front Bottoms.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
Everything! We've got big plans for next year and we hope we can make them all work. We definitely want to tour as much as possible. And we will definitely come back to the UK if we can!
Julius Schiazza from Simmer
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
The highest point of 2015 was definitely being able to release our record with our favourite label (Dog Knights Productions). Without sounding too cringey, it was incredibly satisfying for such a prestigious label to take such a big risk on such a small band.
What were the lowest point(s) of 2015?
The lowest point of 2015 would have to be losing our guitarist Karl due to medical reasons regarding his ears.
Best gig of 2015 and why?
Our best gig would have to be the Record Store Day show at the Old Blue Last. Previously, we'd only played to around one hundred people at the most. But so many people turned up and it seemed to go well, we think.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Our musical tastes range widely within this band, but we all have a mutual interest in similar smaller bands such as: Doctrines, Claw The Thin Ice, Muskets, Water Canvas, Leatherneck, Rain. All very promising bands.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
We are releasing a debut full release on DKP again early next year. We should hopefully be touring a lot more too.
Some Skeletons
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
We had a really fun tour with Blind Wives in May that was probably the highlight. It was great to be touring around the country with friends, playing shows, talking nonsense for days and becoming all too familiar with each others' disgusting habits. Also finishing off our album, and hopefully releasing it will be the final high point of the year! On a personal level, shaving three seconds off my personal best for the 50m front crawl.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
I honestly can't really think of any right now, I'm pleased to say it's been a good year all in all.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
That we've played, my favourite was the last night of the tour with Blind Wives at The Castle Hotel in Manchester. We've played there a couple of times now and it always seems to be busy, the sound is good and the atmosphere is really friendly. I haven't been to many gigs as a punter this year, but I went to see Vennart last week and enjoyed that a lot, which I wasn't really expecting to as I'd not managed to get into the album much, but the gig was great. Cleft played it too and were also great.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Much to my surprise, I got completely hooked by the Bring Me The Horizon album. It's a big pompous pop-metal album, and I'm a sucker for big pomposity. Aside from that I've enjoyed quite a few albums this year, Doomtree, B Dolan, Fathoms, Young Fathers, Cloudkicker, Earl Sweatshirt, Daniel Johns, Say Lou Lou, Braids, Bad Bad Hats, Vasa, Black Internation, Blind Wives, Yowler and All Dogs will all be competing for my album of the year. Also I really like the Kacy Hill EP.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Seeing how people react to our album, playing lots of gigs and writing lots of new songs. And maybe getting under 30 seconds for the 50m front crawl.
Ocasan
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Putting together our video for Kuma and recording a live album outside of Rome.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Bear leaving the band. Our Bearwell show was on 10th December at Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Isle of Wight Festival. We were so well looked after, the festival was incredible. We rode around in golf carts three sheets to the wind.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
The Book of Mormon Soundtrack, Reuben, Kate Miller Heike
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
We've got a fresh start next year with a new bass player. New sound. We're super excited to get back in the studio and record what we've been working on. New direction. Our live track Rip it Up is coming out real soon. This gives you a taste of what we're up to.
The Manic Shine
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
It's all been about the new album which we were really pleased we were able to crowd-fund. Recording and touring Trial & Triumph has been a huge amount of hard work, but it feels great to have it finished and out there for anyone to check out. We've burnt bridges and built new ones and we're in a really good place musically and personally. This year especially has reminded us why we're best buds.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
At the beginning of the year we were feeling pretty low about ourselves and our music and we learnt a valuable lesson: be careful who you work with. Things can be toxic and you don't even realise it at the time! As soon as it dawned on us we changed direction and things started to come together and now we feel like we're on to something.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
That's tough. We had a gig at the Barfly in London in July that fucking rocked! Loads of people turned up and we got some great shots too. A close second would be a gig in a random village hall in the Scottish Borders. Our Scottish fans pretty much took control of organising it: we don't think the village has recovered yet. Orren and Tamir got to meet some school friends they hadn't seen in years so that was pretty cool.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
We only listen to Justin Bieber.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
We're really excited to see how Trial & Triumph is received, we're already getting some amazing reviews although we care more what people say to us at gigs to be honest. We feel like 2016 could be the next step for us. We're gonna keep hitting the road, meeting people and of course begin writing our next songs. Look out!
Today, They Are Older
What were the high points of 2015?
Releasing the new EP had to be the high point. We worked really hard on the record and being able to go out and tour some new music has made this year a great one for us. We have played with a tonne of new bands this year and have met some awesome people. We managed to get over to Holland and play with Rivals in Friends (Germany) and Recession Youth (Holland) and we fucking love those those guys. We will definitely be seeing them again sometime soon.
What were the low points of 2015?
Coming back home after a tour!! We need to start making these tours longer, every time we come home and have to get back to normal life it sucks. Pretty sure we are all alcohol dependent now!
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Playing in Heerlen in March this year was definitely the best show this year! We enjoyed a killer rider and played a sold out show for Recession Youth's album launch. The afterparty was off the chain and we met some truly amazing people that weekend.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
That's a tough one as theres always too much to mention. I guess, Wrongdoers, Norma Jean, A Werewolf (Check these guys out), Ongoing Concept, Deftones, Mutiny on the Bounty and most of us are still holing out for Rinoa doing the world a favour and getting back together!
What is exciting you about 2016 and why?
We are really looking forward to 2016. We are working with more and more people now and Sunbird is really helping the band hold our shit together and keep the band moving in the right direction. We are talking with Rivals in Friends about getting another European tour going next year and it would be great to see those guys again. We may also be heading out to France early next year for a short string of shows. We are working on the new album and so far so good! Once we get Christmas out the way our aim is simply going to be to make 2016 bigger and better than this year.
Fizzy Blood
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
The high point of our year was being able to go and play in South Korea. We met so many amazing people, the shows were incredible and we were treated so well. Also, joining forces with DMF Digital, they've helped us so much and really given us a platform to realise a lot more of our ideas and ambitions which we're more than thankful for, we're looking forward to the next coming year with them and hopefully making 2016 bigger, longer and uncut.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Having gear stolen halfway through a really long tour. It really damaged our morale and the shows immediately following that certainly weren't the most fun we've ever had!
If you're reading this, I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let Tim's guitar go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Our second set of Zandari Festival at Sangsangmadang in Seoul was, collectively, our favourite gig of 2015. Everything was spot on; the sound, the crew, the crowd, the atmosphere, our notoriously bipolar moods... The planets aligned, the heavens opened and stood in its shining rays of triumph was Fizzy Blood and a room full of screaming Korean kids.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
We've been listening to a lot of Demob Happy, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Weezer, Arctic Monkeys, Mini Mansions, Wavves and so many other bands this year.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
There's not a lot we can safely talk about yet in regards to next year, but rest assured we've got a lot to be excited about. We're hopefully going to be spending a lot of time abroad, getting back on the festival circuit, releasing a lot of new material and working on another record to name a few things.
Pulo Reve
We have come so much further and been received so much better than we could have hoped when we launched back in May, prior to which, we were writing and recording. Our EP (The ÉP) launch tour went off beautifully, footage from which contributed to our first music video. We started working with Wall of Sound PR and throughout the summer we were featured in some incredible publications including Metal Hammer and, of course, Punktastic, who flattered us with their kind words. September came and we released our debut LP (é), which again was well reviewed, and led us to a tour of the UK where we played to some wonderful people, made new friends and reconnected with old ones. We've just finished recording our second music video for Ahead at 6:06 and are now recording and demoing towards our next release. Busy year.
High points have to be the hometown shows, playing to a sold-out room at our headline slot in Norwich. It was certainly the best gig of the year, a special moment in all of our lives. The responses have been phenomenal and we are deeply grateful to all the people who have supported us. The low point may well have been finding out our Manchester show was cancelled three hours into the drive up there from London, but thats just how it goes sometimes. It did, however, mean we were able to take a nice detour through the Peak District at dusk. We've been listening to heaps of things this year. Top albums for the band have been Rolo Tomassi's 2015 LP Grievances and Tubelord's 2009 release Our First American Friends; also, honourable mention must go to Charles Bradley's Why Is It So Hard and Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly. This coming year will be an interesting one, and could mark some huge developments for Pulo Revé, with a new release and some exciting shows, and who knows what else.

The Decoy
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
We were lucky as a pig in shit to be releasing our EP and having many a kind word said about it. It was super kind. We were also invited to the Vans Warped Tour party in London. We managed to escape the hills and villages for the highlife for one night and caught the bug. Booze for free is never frowned upon and we smashed it down. I climbed up red velvet curtains, fell down a bowling alley, and bought the bar manager a mad cocktail after trying to steal a glass as a momento. Met some cool people, stole some alcohol (not really stolen when you consider the people we got it from had it for free), and meeting some more cool people. With photo evidence of myself being a bell end I'd just as well come clean and say I was smashed. The boys were smashed too, real smashed. It was good beer too, not a crappy lager or something like that. It was free Amstel or something like that. Banging stuff. Love love love. After such madness we went back to the studio with the almighty Chris Coulter to make our first album, a life achievement for us after being eleven and dreaming of it. Fucking boom pow love. Mostly the kindness of 2015 has been tits. I was also lucky to be endorsing Marshall which is fucking mad tit what!? Tour was great too to meet so many mega people.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Low points? We don't get those! Other than being BROKE AS THE CHAIN ON MY BIKE. But that's no real biggie.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Probably gonna have to say that most gigs leave a lasting memory. Tour was so much fun and each place we play has something mad happen at it, from nearly knocking myself out, to playing through a massive PA in a little pub in Bolton. Band life is always good.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Loads. New Shikari, new Coheed, well, obviously new because that's this year. Fightstar, Every Time I Die, Press to Meco... Many many many more but that just pops to mind.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
OUR ALBUM IS GONNA BE DONE. I've wanted this moment since I was eleven. No matter if it's shit, we'll be super proud to have it. Shout out to the King Chris again too, true hero, true boss.
John Niblock from Vasa
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
There were several high points of 2015 for us. Releasing our debut album Colours (https://vasa.bandcamp.com/album/colours) into the world. We're really proud of how it turned out and how it's been received. Playing at ArcTanGent was pretty amazing as well. We played to a packed tent that was overspilling to the bar tent behind it. Seeing all those people there to see us was amazing. Finally, completing our first ever Europe tour was brilliant as well. That was an experience we will never forget.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
No low points that we could really think of. Thankfully nothing bad has befallen us this year.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Definitely our album launch in Glasgow. We somehow managed to go over capacity on the night so we had about 150 people in a venue that is only supposed to hold 120. It was a fantastic, yet massively sweaty night and an amazing way to officially release our debut album.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Intronaut: The Direction of Last Things, Liturgy: The Ark Work, Deafheaven: New Bermuda, Tellison: Hope Fading Nightly, Cult Leader: Lightless Walk, Rolo Tomassi: Grievances, Vennart: The Demon Joke, HEALTH: Death Magic, Town Portal: The Occident, Alarmist: Popular Demain, Bearded Youth Quest: Yatta, Press to Meco: Good Intent, A Werewolf: Bigger Than The Beatles and Godzilla: Combined
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
We've already got our first tour planned for early 2016. We are also going to Copenhagen, Denmark in May to play at A Colossal Weekend Festival alongside Cult of Luna, Pelican, Town Portal and one other big act who will be announced later. We are also joining the Colossal roster and they will be handling all our our excursions to Europe from now on, the next one will be taking place late 2016. We've also got a good few festivals lined up, the one announced one being StrangeForms in Leeds alongside Alpha Male Tea Party, Cleft, Body Hound and a raft of other amazing bands.
Sauropod
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
We've been evolving nicely this year. In just a few months we went from starting to work with booking agency Atomic Soul, to signing with record label Riot Factory, recording our debut album with Hasse Rosbach and playing bigger stuff like the Øya Festival and by:larm.
One of our songs is tuned like SUUPER low and we play it all the time.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Guitarist and singer Jonas has for years contributed to organizing non profit, DIY-style concerts in a squat in Oslo named Hausmania. We've showed up and played several times. This September we played a support concert where all excess income went to helping Syrian refugees in Oslo. It was one of our coolest concerts!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Morphine, Sia, Jacques Brel, Savant, Chopin, Debussy, Rival Sons, Cornelis Vreeswijk, The Coup, Adele, MIA!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Releasing our debut album January 22nd, touring, playing festivals in the summer and finally getting around to making album number 2!
Forever Never
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Getting back together and doing what we love doing the most: playing live!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Parting company with our long time friend and founding member, Kev.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
We definitely saved the best until last with our Barfly headline show in November! The vibe was amazing, and one of my favourites for a long time!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Aside from countless new FN demos, I have been enjoying Heart of a Coward, Hurts and Skindred's new ones.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Releasing some brand new material in the form of an EP, along with getting back on the road properly starting off with a tour with The Defiled at the end of January. Can't wait to see some familiar faces all over the country!
We Are Carnivores
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
We got some ginormous finance deals out and bought bare juicy-tender new gear for our ripped and sweet stage show. We got so many sounds going we're like your stomach after that post-night out chilli doner kebab you well knew was worst idea 2k15. Our reliable tour horse Linda died three days before our February tour, which was great 'cause she was a malicious bitch and provided no lower-lumber support whatsoever. MerceDave came in to rescue us and he makes us feel so cosy and safe. OH WAIT high NUMBER 1 no doubt about it; DISCOVERING YOP. Holy sucrose-fructose-put-you-in-a-comatose that stuff is liquid crack. We had the best van picnic after a show in Merthyr with hummus, chorizo, breadsticks and more hummus; topped it off with some Yop to finish and Gower summed it all up with a big Yorkshire "THIS YOP IS FOOKING AAAAAAACE".
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
We couldn't really afford those finance deals as we all lied about our incomes to get accepted and, along with a cumulative seventeen or so broken phone screens, we have had a pretty economically crippling year. Why do we always drop phones in puddles? One time Harry literally threw a can of deodorant into the van and ruined his own phone. Sweet shot but dark times. There was also one drawback to MerceDave in that he didn't have enough seats, so we transferred the backseats from Linda and from beyond the grave she is haunting our spines in every minute of every journey.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
ALL OF OUR SHOWS ARE BEST GIGS DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. Nah but for real though the best show was probably in our home town, Hull. We played this weekly night called The Sesh and the promoter there is too babetastic and always has the place rammed. It made us feel real special and then we got 6 pizzas and 4 chips for £22 at Peppino’s. SIX PIZZAS. Juicy-tender.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
Scottish Power's hold playlist. Loads of Ronan Keating and that guy that sings that song about everything being gr8 'cause he put some new shoes on. What a crackhead.
Serial though ACODA's new album is a turtally banging bonging bangers and mash banger. Which reminds us we've been picking up loads of pennies listening to The Hell, comedy gold bowel-moving riffs for dayzzzzz. Ohhhhh and Twenty One Pilots and BTBAM and you know what Grant Green busting licks and tricks like Dave McTrickLicker.

What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
Moving up the rankings in League of Legends. As we're writing this James actually just itched his balls with post-chilli-cutting hands and seems pretty excited about that. Hawwwwwwww hawwwww hawwww hawwwwwwwwwwt.
Next level though we are going on our first ever EU tour early next year, which just feels surreal, and then following it up with a big UK stint. We'll be releasing a new EP about the time we head off 'cause we're so sick at plans and PR 'n' that (love you Steph) so we have loads of things to be chuffed for.
Never Hill
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
A high point of 2015 was finishing up the EP, finally!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
As a band I don't think there has been one for us! It’s been a very fun year.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Our best gig was headlining the Kasbah Coventry. The response was awesome, the sound was great and it was just an all-out fun gig, plus we all stayed out at the club afterwards.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
So many great albums have come through this year. Justin Bieber, Crooks, While She Sleeps, James Bay…the list goes on!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
We have two tours at the start of the year which is very exciting. We will be also recording some new material that reflects our old sound but hopefully shows our growth as musicians. Two of us are graduating from University as well. We'll be taking on anything that comes our way really!
Despite My Deepest Fear
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Although very recent, our new EP Selfish Generation hitting the number one spot on the iTunes Metal Chart is definitely right up there on the high points of the band let alone 2015!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
We haven't played a lot of shows this year, it's been a quiet one as we've had so many setbacks getting the EP out! We were really looking forward to playing Camden Rocks Festival earlier in the year but our set time got pushed back and we ended up going on the same time as Bullet For My Valentine. Our girlfriends and the sound engineer enjoyed our set at least!
Best gig in 2015 and why?
As we haven't played that much this year there aren't too many shows to choose from! But we recently played a show in London with our friends in Empires Fade for their album release. That was a good one as it was a small venue but surprisingly had a lot of people turn up for the middle of the week!
What have you been listening to in 2015?
We all listen to a wide spectrum of music really! Some of the guys really dig their rap/hip hop, others are really into melodic hardcore. Collectively we're all big metal/metalcore fans. Personally I've been jamming the new LGND (previously known as Legend) and I'm really into that at the moment.
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
We'll be heading out on a UK run January 15th - 23rd promoting the EP so that'll kick start the new year nicely! There are also talks about heading back out to mainland Europe so if they come to light that will be a welcomed trip away! Focusing on new material now that the EP is out is also an exciting thought!
Alicewell
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
Definitely the release of our EP, Young Hearts. Or perhaps the hype we had around our All Time Low cover; that was pretty rad too!
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
I guess we'll have to say not being able to play that many shows. This entire year has mainly been a year when we've focused a lot on the songwriting, and recording of this new EP. Even though we're super proud over the EP, the down side of the year has to be that we haven't been able to play a lot of shows.
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Best gig in 2015 and why?
Perhaps our hometown show a few months back? We had a lot of people there, and to be able to play all of these new songs live, that's a great feeling.

What have you been listening to in 2015?
Lower Than Atlantis, Bring Me The Horizon, Don Broco, All Time Low: so many great bands have released so many great albums. It's hard to even count all of them up!

What’s exciting about 2016 and why?
This new EP of ours marks a new step: we're ready to tour, ready to play shows and we'll be out there, showing our music to everyone who's willing to listen. Hopefully we'll be able to get the opportunity to go everywhere one day.
Lady Jane's Revenge
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
We've had some great moments this past year… The inception of the band in January was a massive confidence boost for us as we met each other and made brand new friends and have had each other's backs ever since. The bond and work dynamic this group have is the reason why we've managed
to complete so much in eleven months, from being fortunate when it comes to flawlessly making music, to booking and recording our Debut EP 1554, to then pushing the judges really close at our first gig which was a battle of the bands; while releasing our EP for free gained us over 14, 000 views on YouTube, as well as a good following for our other shows by giving CDs and band cards away. The band really began to push on once we acquired our van which helped us loads when we were gaining good contacts in Cornwall for more shows that have been coming our way more recently. To top the year off we were approached by our PR contact SaN PR which is a massive area we really were trying to accomplish, so with a great big push over the New Year period we hope to garner some much needed attention.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?

Best gig in 2015 and why?
We have had some really good gigs in our county of Cornwall. Because it was a larger venue and we received possibly our biggest crowd, we would have to say the MONO Venue in Falmouth a couple of months ago. Our good friend Bam Bam of Attack Music Productions put on a stellar night in the university town with some excellent friends of ours, Hypophora, For the Oracle, Whatspower and ourselves and everybody did a great job. In terms of our best performance and a great crowd too, We played as openers for our friends Athena Rockets at a venue called Charlie's Bar in Redruth and we were on point with our energy, and it was the first time we really saw the crowd stretch back as far as I could see, while everyone was equally enjoying our show. We gained many new friends and fans that night. Brilliant.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
We find it quite hard to really get excited about a lot of new music, but 2015 has been the best year for a long time… Beartooth absolutely; Ghost Town are so very similar to ourselves it's crazy, Lower Than Atlantis, and Sleeping With Sirens have a great new album. Damn, the old skool garage and 90s influences I pick up on the new BMTH album is wonderful, many other favourites like Miss May I, and I can't wait for the new let.live record.
What's exciting you about 2016 and why?
The most exciting bit is that all the research and experiences of 2015 have been passed and we have gone up a rung on the ladder, so we have a lot more knowledge and help from friends. Our social media is looking very healthy and we just want to get as many high profile shows with bigger bands as we can! It's time for us to break out of this region and get a UK tour under our belt to support our debut EP 1554 being released on 26th February.
Jack Wrench from In Dynamics
What were the high point(s) of 2015?
We recorded our debut album with Chris Coulter in the summer of this year, which was although at times quite stressful and intense, honestly such an incredible experience. We really feel like we've made something great.
What were the low point(s) of 2015?
Unfortunately due to a number of reasons, we were unable to play much during the first half of this year, and subsequently missed out on getting into any festivals, which we would have loved to do, and also one reason why we ended up in the studio during the summer. We did however have a fantastic end to this year, supporting Arcane Roots on their last UK tour, as well as a playing a few amazing headline shows!
Best gig in 2015 and why?
We played a headline show at the Camden Barfly early November, which is over a year since our last in London, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. We went on stage and were blown away at how many people came down to see us. It's really validating for us to see people dancing, and singing along to these songs that we've put so much effort into writing.
What have you been listening to in 2015?
The first record this year that really astounded us was The Mindsweep by Enter Shikari. It's lyrically very powerful, and moving, discussing issues not many are willing to address. And musically, it's very edgy, and abrasive. It overall delivers in every aspect, and has a real lastability about it. The other record I think we should mention is Behind The Devil's Back by Fightstar. This is a record that really just reminds you how Alternative Rock is supposed to be done. Huge choruses, awesome riffs, and quality songwriting. A real triumphant return, we've had it on repeat for months!
What’s exciting you about 2016 and why?
The release of our new record, and what is looking like a lot more touring than we previously have been. We absolutely can't wait. Roll on 2016!
The Punk Archive would like to thank all the PRs and bands we have worked with in 2015. Here's to a happy, safe and prosperous 2016!
