Interview: Muncie Girls

We caught up with Lande from Muncie Girls following the release of their split-7" with Sandlot Kids...

The Punk Archive: Hey guys, introduce yourselves to our readers?
LandeWe're Muncie Girls and we're a punk rock band from Exeter in Devon.

The Punk Archive: What inspired you to release a split, and how easy was it to settle on an artist to do that split with?
Lande: Split records are a really good way to get people listening to a band they might not otherwise have done, and also we were too scared that no one would buy the 7" if it was just us. Sandlot Kids are really great so it wasn't hard to settle on them.

The Punk Archive: Have you felt you've benefited from eachothers' music by doing it?
LandeI think we'll find out when it comes to writing our next record. I hope so!

The Punk Archive: Why did you decide on Pet Sematary as The Ramones' track to cover?
LandeWe did a Ramones covers set at the Freakscene Christmas party at The Cavern, Exeter last year. We sounded and looked better than ever before. What a dream it was. We also wanted to record something that would remind us how much we really don't want to be buried in a pet cemetery. No no.

The Punk Archive: How has your 2015 been?
LandeOur 2015 has been wild. We recorded our first album, played a whole bunch of shows and saw loads of friends. All three of us have personally had quite challenging years so I think the times we've had as Muncie Girls have meant a lot to us.
