Undercover Festival 2014: Preview: Riskee and the Ridicule

We had a quick chat with Scott from Riskee and the Ridicule pretty much just after he'd hopped off the ferry from the band's Belgium tour with Ghouls....

The Punk Archive: Are you excited to be playing Undercover Festival?
Scott: Yes majorly. The festival is going to be great, there's so much hype behind it and a brilliant line-up, too.

The Punk Archive: Who are you most looking forward to seeing?
Scott: The Talks for sure, and definitely Gentleman's Dub Club. Both amazing bands.

The Punk Archive: How important are independent UK Festivals to keep the scene going?
Scott: Massively. Anything which places unsigned and signed acts together is helping the scene. It really helps unknown and smaller bands receive the exposure on a much higher level.

The Punk Archive: How has your summer been?
Scott: Mental. We've played loads of festivals, loads of gigs and we've just finished off with a four-date tour of Belgium with the one and only Ghouls. Although it nearly killed us all...

The Punk Archive: You've just released your début album, Dawn of the Dog. How has the response been to that?
Scott: Really supportive. Lots of the people who have been posting on our Facebook have been saying they have the album on repeat...which is fine by us!

The Punk Archive: What's left for Riskee and the Ridicule in 2014?
Scott: I've started writing the next album so hopefully we'll get some riffs put to it. But mostly, we'll be playing some shows and having more fun! We've also got our album launch party on the 5th September at Platform 5 in Ashford coming up...
