We caught up with The One Hundred following Camden Rocks to see how it was for them...
The Punk Archive: Tell us all about your day at Camden Rocks? Who did you see? How was your set? What rocked?
The One Hundred: Camden Rocks was awesome! We only just managed to arrive on time for our set due to traffic so unfortunately missed the first part of the day, but the set went down really well! We played The Good Mixer and the room was packed, I think there were people still trying to get in while we were playing! The Good Mixer is a pretty small venue so it got pretty hot and sweaty pretty quick! We didn't manage to catch as many bands as we would've liked but I think The Hell and Hacktivist were stand outs for us!
The Punk Archive: How did you settle on your unique sound?
The One Hundred: It wasn't really a conscious decision to sound the way we do. We knew we wanted to move away from what we had been doing in previous bands but wrote what came naturally to us. We had an idea of what we wanted to do but once we started writing songs we found what worked best for us.
The Punk Archive: What are your major influences when songwriting?
The One Hundred: We take influence from a number of different places when we're writing. We’ll obviously take influence from different bands and artists but we don’t stay specifically in one genre of music. We all listen to different stuff so we try and draw in a bit of everyone’s tastes to create something we love listening to and hopefully the fans do too!
The Punk Archive: What does the rest of 2014 hold for The One Hundred?
The One Hundred: Well we’re currently gearing up for festival season which is gonna be wicked! We’ll also have our debut EP coming out in the not too distant future which we can’t wait to release! As well as those things, there’ll be a load more shows and just trying to get our name and our music out there for everyone to hear!
