Interview: Killing Kuddles

With Killing Kuddles releasing a new track, Nobody, through Autumn + Colour (http://www.autumnandcolour.com/aesthetics/say-hello-to-killing-kuddles), Dan Stoten caught up with Elwood Kuddles from the folk-indie-punk outfit...

The Punk Archive: Introduce yourselves to our readers?
Elwood: Hello readers, nice to meet you! My name is Elwood Kuddles, and I'm a songwriter from Atlanta, GA. Not to mention all around nice guy!

The Punk Archive: So why the name, Killing Kuddles?
Elwood: Tough enough for the dudes and sweet enough for the ladies!

The Punk Archive: You tread a fine line between punk, folk and indie. How would you describe your sound or genre best?
Elwood: I think that describes it perfectly... No need to just make one kind of music. I just so happen to have an ability to put them all in one song.

The Punk Archive: Nobody is a very emotive track. What in particular has it been influenced by?
Elwood: Just life in general and making mistakes. No one thing in particular.

The Punk Archive: What message are you trying to get across in your music, if any?
Elwood: That's it's OK to be yourself and to not worry about fitting in because people that understand you will gravitate to you.

The Punk Archive: With music not being their sole function, why did you choose to release through Autumn + Colour?
Elwood: Because music is not my sole function, it just happens to be my main outlet for my art. It didn't hurt that they work with Look Alive, and they are good friends of mine so I knew A+C would be cool.

The Punk Archive: What's next for Killing Kuddles? Is there an album on the horizon? Can you give us any insight into it?
Elwood: Next is writing more songs, but that is always on the horizon because that is just what I do. There is an album on the horizon. I don't have a lot of details about it, but I do know it will released in 2014.
